DIY Carpet Deodorizer With Essential Oils
Dear SBA Fam,
Today we're talking carpets! So exciting, I know. But, hear me out.
Think about all the stinky things that get on our carpets... feet, pets, shoes, food crumbs, etc. If your carpets are anything like mine, it's time for a carpet refresh!
That's why I'm sharing one of my staple household DIYs. I regularly use this fragrant and bright-smelling carpet deodorizer because it works so well and is safe for the whole family. You don't have to worry about breathing in any toxic chemicals or getting skin reactions, unlike conventional carpet deodorizers.
One thing that makes this DIY so fun is how customizable it is. If you don't like a certain scent included in this tutorial, don't use it! Use a different kind of essential oil instead. =) Also, did I mention how CHEAP this is?

DIY Carpet Deodorizer:
Ingredients:
-Baking soda
-Essential oils. I use Lavender, orange, and lemon in this tutorial.
Instructions:
- Fill jar with 1 cup of baking soda. You can always make a bigger batch too! One cup is all I had left.
- Place about 10 drops (I sometimes do 15!) of your favorite essential oil in the container.
- Shake the container really good.
- Sprinkle on the carpet or rug and let sit for about 10-15 minutes.
- After 10-15 minutes, vacuum it up.
It really is that simple! Remember, you can be creative with scents! During the summer months, I like to use the EOs listed in this DIY, however, during the fall and winter months, I like to use different scents like nutmeg, cinnamon, and clove!
