Article: Homemade Rose Syrup

Homemade Rose Syrup

Fresh roses? No thanks! Give me a few dozen dried rose buds so I can make some Homemade Rose Syrup 😄

Pairs well with lattes, black coffee, teas, steamers, and homemade sodas!

We also have several other homemade syrup recipes, check it out: homemade vanilla bean syrup & homemade cardamom syrup!

Click on the photo above to be taken to our YouTube where you can watch them being made. The instructions are also included below.

Ingredients:

1 cup of sugar (I use organic cane sugar which makes the syrup more on the brown side) which doesn't bother us. If you use white and refined, the syrup may be a bit pink 😍

1 cup distilled water (tap is fine but shelf life won't be very long if not kept in fridge) I have only used distilled and it can easily last for a full 7-10 days outside of fridge. We usually use it up before then 😊👍🏻.

1/2 cup dried roses

**** if you want a stronger rose flavor, substitute 1/2 - 1 cup of the water for rose hydrosol (make sure it's the kind you can drink - not rose water that has tons of fragrance and preservatives in it).

Directions:

Bring water and sugar to simmer. Add in roses once sugar is dissolved. Simmer for 3-5 mins then mash roses. Simmer for another 3-5 mins and mash again. Turn heat off and once it cools completely, strain flowers as shown in video and store in glass container. I like 1 tbsp. per 12 ounces. YUM!

BONUS:

Did you know?

Rose is game-changer when it comes to skincare! Check out these amazing benefits for your skin:

  1. Rose is a natural moisture magnet, keeping your skin super hydrated and plump. This is for you, my dry skin gals!

  2. Got irritated or sensitive skin? Rose's anti-inflammatory properties help to soothe and calm your skin.

  3. Remember how we talked about those antioxidants in roses? When it comes to skincare, they help fight off free radicals that can mess with your skin, helping to reduce fine lines and wrinkles.

  4.  Roses have natural astringent properties that tighten pores and even out skin tone. Dark spots, blemishes, and uneven pigmentation? Give Rose a try.

  5. Roses are packed with vitamins, minerals, and fatty acids that nourish your skin, bringing out its natural beauty. They help restore your skin's balance.

We love Rose so much around here that we offer several effective products containing rose ingredients for various skin types and skin concerns. Check it out!
