Here's Why Red Raspberry Seed Oil Is In All Three of SBA's Moisturizers

Red Raspberry Seed oil... Have you ever heard of it? Some of you may find this oil familiar if you use SBA products because I formulated all three of SBA's rich and luxurious moisturizers with this special oil as a main ingredient. Yes, our Blue Tansy Ultra Rich Moisturizer, Repair Cream, and Daydream Mineral SPF all have Red Raspberry Seed oil as a main ingredient.
What makes this oil special and effective? Well, that's what I wanted to chat with you about today! I wanted to highlight a few special qualities of this oil and explain why I intentionally use this powerhouse ingredient in our moisturizers.
Natural Sun Protection Properties
You may have already noticed, but Red Raspberry Seed oil is a top ingredient in our Daydream Mineral SPF. I incorporated this oil into our non-nano zinc oxide mineral-based suncreen moisturizer because of its many incredible benefits we will discuss more below, but also because it contains natural sun protection properties. Red Raspberry Seed oil can absorb UVA and UVB rays that are damaging to the skin. There have even been studies showing that this oil has an SPF ranging from 28-50 for UVA rays and it has up to SPF 8 for UVB rays. So, this is just one of the reasons I wanted to add this amazing oil to our SPF moisturizer. With this moisturizer, you have the Red Raspberry Seed oil and non-nano zinc oxide working hard to protect your skin from sun damage.
High In Anti-inflammatory Properties
Did you know that Red Raspberry Seed oil has superior anti-inflammatory properties than grapeseed, hazelnut, or avocado oil? This is thanks to its very high content of alpha-linoleic acid. What does this mean for the skin? This means that Red Raspberry Seed oil is VERY useful for those with sensitive skin and for combating and preventing skin issues like psoriasis, rosacea, and eczema. When formulating the Blue Tansy Ultra Rich Moisturizer, Repair Cream, and Daydream Mineral SPF, I wanted to give you options that were gentle enough for any skin type to benefit from, yet powerful enough to make a difference for your skin health. Red Raspberry Seed oil helps make that possible for these three moisturizers.
Red Raspberry Seed oil is also an emollient, which means it actively helps the skin retain moisture and helps to create a lipid barrier over the skin. This oil is very effective at helping protect skin from environmental harm because it acts as a barrier while helping to seal in water and essential nutrients your skin needs to be at its best. That's another reason why it's in all three of our moisturizers!
Essential Fatty Acids
This simple yet powerful oil has a particularly high amount of omega-3 and omega-6 fatty acids. To demonstrate, most oils contain around 50-60 percent of essential fatty acids while Red Raspberry Seed oil has upwards of 83 percent. Wow! What does this mean for your skin? This means that this high amount of essential fatty acids is really working for your skin to help healthy cell turnover and regeneration. Plus, these fatty acids help keep your skin very moisturized and supple which helps decrease the appearance of aging. Another component in this oil that helps combat signs of aging is the high vitamin E and A compounds that it possesses. This oil is like a superfood for your skin! So many powerful nutrients for your skin to drink in and thrive on.
