Festive Fire Cider Ft. Kombucha Vinegar
Fire cider is one of my favorite recipes to make—it’s so versatile and fun! As you can see in the video, I don’t use exact measurements and rarely cook by a recipe. I just taste and feel it in my soul (lol). The beauty of fire cider is its flexibility. You can adapt it with your favorite veggies, spices, fruits, and fresh herbs!
This batch turned out super spicy (which I love!) and delicious. A friend who was under the weather said it worked wonders for clearing her sinuses. So, get creative and have fun putting your own twist on this recipe!

Ingredients
Note: I use organic produce whenever possible and soak everything in a vinegar and baking soda bath for about 15 minutes to reduce any lingering pesticides or chemicals.
Liquids
- Homemade kombucha vinegar (or substitute with apple cider vinegar)
- Raw unfiltered honey (I add mine during fermentation for extra flavor)
Produce
- Oranges
- Lemons
- Gala apples
- Jalapeño
- Celery
- Cranberries
- Garlic
- Onion
- Ginger
Fresh Herbs
- Rosemary
- Mint
Spices & Seasonings
- Dried orange peel
- Whole allspice
- Whole nutmeg
- Whole cloves
- Whole cinnamon
- Caraway seeds
- Turmeric
- Red pepper flakes
- Oak wood smoked pepper

Instructions
-
Prep the Produce
Chop all your produce into chunks. -
Layer Ingredients in a Jar
Add raw honey to a large jar first, followed by your chopped produce and fresh herbs. -
Add Spices & Seasonings
Sprinkle in the dried spices and seasonings. -
Pour in Vinegar
Pour kombucha vinegar (or apple cider vinegar) over everything, ensuring all ingredients are fully submerged. -
Ferment
Store the jar in a cool, dark place for about a month. Burp (open the jar to release gases) every couple of days. If you’re using kombucha vinegar like I do, check on it daily and use fermenting lids for convenience. -
Strain & Enjoy
After fermentation is complete, strain the mixture and enjoy your flavorful fire cider!
